Dedicated to Service for Decades

At West Plains Dental Group, we are dedicated to providing excellent, family friendly dental care to our community. Since our early years, we have worked to care for our patients as we would our own family. Our legacy is our story. Dr. Brian Morrison and Dr. Alanna Temple, along with our team, work together to deliver precise and compassionate treatment for your dental health needs. The foundational vision of our practice was built by Dr. Harry Kelly and Dr. Gregory Temple, and continues today. We are proud to continue to care for our community today and into the future.

Our Services

Our dental practice offers a comprehensive range of services, ensuring personalized and expert care for every patient.

  • Our practice focuses on prevention and periodontal care. Led by our dental hygienist, Christy Ramseur RDH, and our hygiene team, you can be assured you are in good hands. We provide routine dental cleanings, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance. We also encourage an excellent home care routine and our hygiene department can recommend a range of products and electric toothbrushes to personalize your care.

  • We strive to provide excellent restorative treatment to meet your needs, while also balancing esthetics and functional needs. Composite (white) fillings, crowns, implant crowns, and bridges, are part of our every day practice.

  • Routine dental extractions are performed daily in our office. Some third molars (or wisdom teeth) can be removed in the office, while some more difficult or impacted third molar surgeries must be referred to the oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

  • Drs. Morrison and Temple have been making dentures and partials for well over 20 years. We provide traditional dentures and partials, as well as digital dentures and partials. Digitizing the denture and partial making process has given us some excellent results and we will be happy to discuss this with you at your consultation visit.

  • Some simple endodontic or root canal therapy can be completed in our practice. Many times, due to the complex nature of the root canal system (especially in molar teeth), you will be referred to an endodontic specialist for completion of your treatment.

  • We have upgraded our technology in our practice to provide digital scanning of the teeth and gums, which has mostly eliminated the need for taking impressions of the teeth. Gaggers rejoice! No more goop.

  • West Plains Dental Group provides oral appliance therapy for people who have a diagnosis of Obstructive Sleep Apnea or Sleep Disordered Breathing. Scroll below to learn more about this specialized service.

Let’s talk about sleep disordered breathing and how we can help…

  • It all begins with a conversation with your physician. There are multiple symptoms of sleep disordered breathing, including excessive daytime sleepiness, snoring, waking up gasping or choking, restless sleep, pauses in breathing while asleep, morning headaches, difficulty concentrating, just to name a few. Discuss these symptoms with your doctor to get the conversation going about sleep apena.

Your doctor can order you a home sleep test that you can use in the comfort of your own bed. The results of this home sleep test can help to screen you for sleep issues and a recommendation can be made by your physician to seek out CPAP therapy or Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT).

  • Once you receive a diagnosis of mild to moderate sleep apnea, your physician can send us a copy of your current sleep study and a prescription for an oral appliance, if applicable. If your physician recommends CPAP therapy, definitely follow doctor recommendations on CPAP first!

Some types of sleep apnea are not treatable with an oral appliance, such as central sleep apnea, or sleep apnea in children. We will follow doctor recommendations on whether oral appliance therapy is the treatment modality of choice.

  • Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT) is a treatment modality for people with mild to moderate sleep apnea and those who are CPAP intolerant. If you have exhausted options with your CPAP and want to try OAT instead, talk to your doctor and give us a call. Again, we would need a copy of your current sleep study and a prescription from your doctor for Oral Appliance Therapy.

  • You simply call our office for an oral appliance consultation. We have a dedicated staff member who works with our sleep apnea patients and coordinates care with their physician. Information will be collected about your particular situation and your overall dental health will be screened. If you have significant dental issues, you will need to be seen by your regular dentist for care. If you have dentures or lots of missing teeth, we will not be able to make you an appliance. You need to have a stable set of teeth, free of excessive periodontal (gum) disease and/or decay.

We will digitally scan your mouth and send the file to our oral appliance laboratory for fabrication of your custom appliance. You will come back for a final fitting of your appliance and you will have at least two follow up visits to evaluate your appliance and titrate or adjust it for your comfort, as needed.

  • The answer is….maybe. Our staff will verify your insurance, check eligibility, and send it to our third-party medical billing company we have hired to help our dental sleep appliance patients receive reimbursement for their appliance, if eligible. The medical billers will code your appliance correctly and work to get reimbursement for you if at all possible! At this time, we are not set up to bill Medicare.

  • No! In fact, we treat our sleep appliance practice as a completely separate entity from our regular dental practice. You will have to fill out some paperwork for us so we can establish your care in our sleep practice, but we want you to continue to seek your routine dental care from your regular dentist.

About
our office

In September of 2013, we opened our new, state-of-the-art dental practice on Hull Street. We worked to create a warm, friendly environment with a good workflow for our staff. You can even sit an enjoy a cup of coffee while you wait.
